We, at HAHAF are fortunate to have the opportunity to help this young and upcoming sports star from Sri Lanka. Thinura Randima of Nalanda College, Colombo is an emerging and young talent, who continuously won the National Squash Championships since 2019 to date and managed himself to emerge as the Sri Lankan Squash Champion holding the number one rank of Sri Lanka Squash since then.
We, as HAHAF came forward without hesitation to financially support this young Squash Champion, after we were informed that Thinura Randima was selected to represent Sri Lanka in the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2022 yet had financial hardships to travel overseas to compete against other counterparts in the Asian region.
Hope and Happiness Australia Foundation INC., as a Not-For-Profit Organisation implemented an ambitious project of building a new house for a disable family in 2009. This was one of the very early projects of the foundation and was a great success. Upon a request made by an elderly, who live in Anukkane, a remote area of Sri Lanka.
HAHAF committee thoroughly studied the status of this family and their economic hardships very closely and unanimously decided to build a new house with an estimated cost of AUD. 35,000. As a newly incorporated foundation, this project was a very big task, but it was a very successful story at the end with generous financial support from our Australian donors and invaluable volunteers from the local community.
