Scholarships

HAHAF Scholarships are the first initiative of our organisation introducing in 2008 parallel to the organisational incorporation with the generous support of our donors. In the year 2008, We were able to give away twenty (20) scholarships worth AUD 8,000 to the eligible school students and university undergraduates in Sri Lanka under this program. To date, we have invested AUD 28,000 to offer more than eighty (80) scholarships. 

We, as HAHAF will continue to help more and more scholarships as a successful program to uplift lives of less privileged children. We recognise that the educational achievements in one’s life can do wonders in their lives and their generations to come. This program runs in two categories as mentioned below.

HAHAF SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

Under this program, we select eligible school students from year 5 or above considering their educational potential, economic backgrounds, and achievements in extracurricular activities. The selected student will be funded by our reserved scholarships fund or by allocating to a resolute sponsor or a family, till they finish their secondary education at the school. We coordinate and monitor progress throughout and facilitate communication and correspondence between the student and the sponsoring family.  

HAHAF UNIVERSITY/PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Under this university scholarships program, we select an undergraduate from universities. The scheme operates similar to school scholarship programme and recipients of the scholarship generally communicate directly with the sponsors or donors and keep them Up to date with their progress.  In addition, these students receive free career guidance and additional help to finish their professional education programmes (such as Chartered Accounting, Civil Engineering, Performing Arts, Computer Science, etc) outside the university system.
